Sandro Cavazza is een Zweeds singer-songwriter. In 2014 studeerde hij af waar hij in zijn studietijd leadzanger van de groep Bonavox was. In 2015 werkte hij mee aan twee nummers (“Sunset Jesus” en “Gonna Love Ya”) van het album Stories van Avicii. In 2016 scoorde hij een grote hit met “Beautiful Life” van Lost Frequencies. Cavazza zong het nummer in. Tegenwoordig doet hij het solo niet slecht en dus legden we hem de Vragen van “Den Beir” voor en vroegen we hem hoe het was om in de Lotto Arena te spelen.
We stelden hem enkele vragen en omdat we er van uitgaan dat iedereen wel wat Engels kan, laten we het gewoon zo staan.
What is your all-time favorite song?
Wow, tricky question. I don’t have an absolute favorite, but one song I love is; “Love of My life” with Queen. Its pure; the lyrics are profound, the gitarr playing is fantastic and the vocal performance by Freddy Mercury is unbelievable.
Which song is perfect for a Road Trip?
Funny enough “Road Trippin´” by RHCP (Red Hot Chili Peppers). I just get a good feeling listening to it while traveling.
To which song do you like to clean?
I don’t like to to clean. Jazz music makes it better.
What’s the perfect song to wake up with?
Louis Armstrong; “What a Wonderful World”. It makes me appreciate life.
What’s your favorite artist from your home city?
Ted Gärdestad was and perhaps is still the best artist I’ve known of from Stockholm. His songs are absolute magic.
Which artist do you think is too underrated and which one is overrated?
Loudon Wainwright III is so underrated. The most witty song writer in the world. I don’t think artist are overrated… but sometimes I don’t get the hype, and sometimes a lot of pop music doesn’t really speak to me.
If you could be one artist for a day, who would that be?
Kurt Elling. Because his melodic language must be a world of its own.
What’s the best song to make love to? (…to ask someone out?)
I haven’t asked anybody out with a song yet. But I guess writing it yourself would be the most efficient way. Wouldn’t it?
What’s the most beautiful lyric you’ve ever heard?
I like lyrics that paints a clear picture in your mind of what a situation is like. For instance from the Loudon Wainwright song ”Your Mother & I” but really that is just one of million favorites.

At which place would you love to play a concert?
Somewhere perhaps in a big forest, or on the top a high mountain, or why not on top of a skyscraper. Somewhere different and beautiful.
How is/was it to play in front of Lost Frequencies?
The crowd was absolutely amazing! It was definitely the best show I’ve done with Felix so far. Everyone really appreciated the songs, even “So Much Better”; our new collaboration. So it felt great. Plus, Felix was on fire!
What did you think of the Belgian audience?
Fantastic crowd. I believe there are really intelligent listeners, they seem to enjoy divers music. Not only up-tempo songs…
